Scripture Reading
Ephesians 4:15
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.
Reflection
Truth without love is brutality; love without truth is flattery. Paul calls us to hold both together — speaking honestly, but doing so in a way that builds the other person up rather than tears them down. This is mature faith: not the sharp word that damages, nor the comfortable silence that allows harm, but the truthful, loving word that helps someone grow. Ask God today for both the courage to speak truth and the grace to speak it well.
Prayer for Today
Bless those who mourn, eternal God, with the comfort of your love that they may face each new day with hope and the certainty that nothing can destroy the good that has been given. May their memories become joyful, their days enriched with friendship,
and their lives encircled by your love.
and their lives encircled by your love.
Amen.
