Saint of the Day
St. Joseph the Worker

St. Joseph was the foster father of Jesus, a carpenter from Nazareth who raised the Son of God in a working-class home. Honored as the patron of workers, his feast on May 1 celebrates the dignity of honest labor and the sanctity of ordinary life.

Scripture Reading

Colossians 3:23-24

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
Reflection
St. Joseph was a carpenter — a man whose hands were calloused, whose days were structured by sawdust and measuring and honest labor. The feast of St. Joseph the Worker reminds us that God himself took on a trade, that ordinary work is sacred. Whatever your occupation, you are serving the Lord Christ when you work with integrity and care. There is no work too small to offer to God.
Prayer for Today
Loving God, we are made to be whole. I ask that you help me to become whole. Help me find the courage to be myself. Help me to find confidence in all my undertakings. Above all, grant me a clean bill of health and good results from my ultrasound so that I may do your work in the world. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Amen.
