St. Francis Xavier
Francis Xavier (1506–1552) was a co-founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and one of the greatest missionaries in church history. Born in Navarre, Spain, he traveled to India, Japan, and the Far East, baptizing thousands and establishing Christian communities across Asia. He died on the island of Shangchuan, China, within sight of the mainland he longed to evangelize.

Advent teaches us to watch for God in the subtle and the small: a kind word, a softened heart, a moment of unexpected peace. Righteousness, this psalm promises, will bloom wherever the King arrives.
