Scripture Reading

Proverbs 8:22-23, 30-31

"The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old; I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be. ... Then I was constantly at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence, rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind."
Reflection
The ancient "O Antiphons" begin today — O Sapientia, O Wisdom. Wisdom delights in the human world and longs to dwell among us. This is the theological heartbeat of Christmas: the eternal Word, who was with God and was God, took delight in humanity and became one of us. Divine Wisdom did not stay at a safe distance; it rejoiced and came close.
Prayer for Today
Dear God,

We seek your help and intervention on behalf of ____. We pray for all the physicians, nurses, and health care providers involved in their care. Please grant the medical team wisdom to know the best course of action to relieve pain and promote healing.
And if our knowledge falls short, we ask that you would close that gap, and provide wisdom and insight and guidance into this situation. We know that you are good and that you love ____. Please comfort them in this difficult
time and we ask that you would ease their pain and give them hope and peace.

In His name,

Amen

Amen.
