For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Reflection
Salvation is by grace, not works — but saved people were made for a purpose, and that purpose is good works. We are not accidental creatures but intentional handiwork: the Greek word here is poiema, from which we get "poem." You are God's poem in the world, crafted with care and sent with a mission. The good works prepared for you are not burdens but the very expression of who you were made to be.
Prayer for Today
Father Lord, disgrace every, power, that is out to steal Your programme for my life, in the name of Jesus.
