Richly Provided For

Scripture Reading

1 Timothy 6:17

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
Reflection
Paul's warning against misplaced hope in wealth is not anti-enjoyment — he says explicitly that God provides everything for our enjoyment. The problem is not pleasure or provision; it is the temptation to treat created goods as if they were the Source. Gratitude redirects that temptation: it acknowledges that the gift is good, and the Giver is greater. Enjoy your blessings today with a grateful, open hand.
Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your guidance. Forgive me for getting ahead of Your plans, and help me know when to stop and listen for Your direction. Your ways are perfect, Lord. Thank You for offering gentle grace. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Amen.
