Scripture Reading
Mark 12:43-44
Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything — all she had to live on."
Reflection
Jesus does not measure generosity by the size of the gift but by the cost to the giver. The widow's two small coins represented everything — not a portion but her entire livelihood laid before God. Her action was an act of profound trust: I have nothing but God, and that is enough. True giving is not calculated surplus but surrendered security. What are you holding back that you might, in faith, release?
