Prayer For Understanding
Beautiful God, I pray that I fix my eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, because what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Lord, I pray that do not operate under the temporary, but let my lifestyle come from understanding what is eternal. I pray that my focus never shifts from You because You are eternal, You do not fade away or change. Amen.
Gracious Lord, sometimes I think that my own ways are right, but You weigh my heart and You know my intentions. Instead of my flesh being my internal guide, let Your Spirit instruct me on the way that I should go. I pray that I become sensitive to hearing Your instruction so that I know what to do. Lord help me to live righteously with You and set apart from the world. Teach me patience, I pray, Amen.
Holy God, I pray that I humble myself right now. Although You have enabled me to think logically, practically and intellectually, You know all things. Just as I do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, I cannot understand the works of You the Maker of all things with my own knowledge. Your works require revelation and divine understanding, so help me in this area of my life and grant me patience and understanding. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
God of wisdom, I call upon You and know that You will answer me and tell me the great and unsearchable things that I do not know. I thank You for divine understanding that reveals to me the things that I do not understand. I pray for patience and understanding in all areas of my life: my workplace, my home, my relationships, in all things. I thank You for allowing me to see things like You do. Amen.
Lord God, I know You are here. I trust in Your presence, Your power, Your goodness, and Your complete control over everything I'm facing. Help me walk through the questions, assured of Your answers, even though they're still unclear to me. I know one day King Jesus will appear as the Faithful and True (Revelation 19:11), riding a powerful horse and fully revealing His authority. And I know that even now, when I don't understand all the answers, I have You with me, and that is all that matters. Please give me increasing eyes of faith to trust what You are doing, evenand especiallywhen I don't understand. I love You and I trust You, and I pray these things in Jesus' Worthy Name, Amen.
Lord Jesus Christ, grant me the gift of understanding. Help me to understand the feelings of others, the desires of others, the goals of others. At the same time, help me to understand myself in my actions and reactions. Widen my vision beyond my own small world to embrace with knowledge and love the worlds of others. Help me, Lord, to always see you at work in my own life and in the lives of others. Bless me with insight, acceptance and love that is tempered by you who are all things to all men. Help me to understand, Lord. Amen.
Glorious God, life is becoming unbearable. My enemies are gloating over me. Heavenly Father, do not let me be ashamed. Arise from your throne and destroy all the enemies of my soul. Arm me with strength and help me to walk in the perfection that comes from Christ. I stand firm in the shield of victory that you have given me. By the authority that you have given me, I command my enemies to turn back in flight. I declare confusion in their camp, in Jesus' name. I praise you for you are the God that avenges me. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is Peace, we come before you, asking for peace.Peace within our minds, bodies, and souls, so that the battle of the mind will be overcomed.
Peace within our homes, so we can live joyful lives.
And peace within the world, so that the raging war ceases.
We know that peace, like grace, comes through knowing you. Help us to grow in knowledge, wisdom and understanding of you, Lord.Give us a sound mind and the peace that passes all understanding. Heavenly Father, those of us who have been born again are assured of your peace.
Lord, help us to understand that as we face the pressures in life, there is no better escape, for Lucifer is waiting to pounce on us, his desired prey.
