Prayer For The Weary
Dear God,
The constant struggles and demands feel intense some days. We're weary and worn. We feel exhausted and discouraged. There never seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done that we need to get completed. And it's just hard to keep going in the face of defeat and discouragement. Please help us to remember that you are there, close, and you promise never to leave us.
Thank you that you are our Refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Help us to trust you more, to stop wasting so much time just spinning our wheels, distracted and worried, or wrestling in our own strength.
Forgive us Lord for the times we've failed to lift our eyes first to you, for the days we've forgotten to even come before you. Fill us with the power of your Holy Spirit today; with your strength, your peace, your joy. Fill us with your spiritual wisdom and discernment, and the constant reminders that your presence will go with us, and you will give us rest.
We ask for your healing over every part of our lives physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. We ask that you would make us strong and resilient for the days ahead. We know that you have great purpose for those who believe in your name. Help us not to allow the distractions and struggles of our days, weary us down to the point of exhaustion.
We know that your desire is for us to live this life abundantly and free. Thank you that you are greater than anything we face here in this life, and our desire is to reflect your love and light to a world that so desperately needs your hope.
We know that the enemy wouldn't be fighting so hard against us if we weren't making a difference for your Kingdom. He wouldn't be trying so hard to stop us if he didn't think you had so much good still in store.
Remind us that all the momentary troubles and every single battle belongs to you. We believe that whatever we're up against can be taken down in one fail swoop by your mighty hand.
Thank you for the victories in our lives, that have no explanation except, God did this. We give you the glory and honor for all that you're doing every day, even in the times we can't see it all, or fully understand your ways.
Help us to keep our eyes on you and off our circumstances. Help us to see when another soul around us needs to be encouraged too. May we be faithful to carry one another's burdens, remembering that we're all in this life journey together, and there's great power in unity.
We love you Lord and we need you today. We're reminded of our weakness, but we know that in you, we are strong. We lift up our hearts and hands to worship you. Thank you for your great love and care. Thank you that you surround us like a shield, we choose to find rest in you today.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
Lord, let the burden of pain be bearable not because of our own strength but because of Yours.
When we grow weary, lead us back to Your presence. Help us to know You don't give trials we cannot face because we never face them alone. When we're desperate for You, You are our help and our comfort, our strength when we fall down.
You are the God who identifies with every discouragement, every agony, every broken part of us and You came for us anyway. You lift our spirits and when we are crushed, when we despair, when we are so frustrated and tired, discouraged and empty, You promise us life and a great, wild, ridiculous hope. Let the unanswerable things quiet and the knowing of You and Your goodness bring us peace when our minds rally against us. When our bodies fail, let us feel Your touch. You are the God who sees and we belong to You. Calm our timid hearts and bring rest to the weary places. Help us remember Your promise that You are with us even to the end. Even on the weary days, and especially to the weary ones, You are our God.
Amen
Dear Holy Righteous Father, there's nothing in this life that is a surprise to You. Oh God, you see the our daily struggles and give us strength to endure through the power of Your Spirit. Lord, help me to remember that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light, in Jesus name. Amen.
Dear Lord,
I am coming before you crying out for your help.
I close my eyes and find myself kneeling at the cross.
Yes, I have the assurance of eternal salvation.... but
my body, my mind, and my emotions are weary.
The roads I have been traveling seem long and hard and desolate.
It feels like I am at a breaking point.
I bring my tired, worn-out feelings to you.
I bring my pains, my hurts, my burdens, and my concerns to you.
I bring all my stress, my sorrow, and my sadness to you.
I want to leave them here at the cross.
Scoop me up and rescue me this day from the plots and plans of the enemy.
I need your divine direction.
I cry out for help.
I am coming before you with an empty cup asking you to fill my cup with your provision and your encouragement.
Fill me with strength.
Uplift me with thoughts of hope.
Keep me moving forward, and bless me with refreshing rest along your pathway.
Loving Lord, look at me and take note of those things I so desperately need and be merciful to me this day.
Flow your abundant compassion toward my weaknesses and my needs.
May your tenderness reach out and overwhelm me.
Amen
Dear God,
Thank you that your yoke is easy and your burden is light. Thank you that you promise to give the worried, the hurried, the pressured, and stressed out - rest and peace for our souls - if we'll just come before you. Thank you that you already know all that concerns us, and you care. We're so grateful for your reminder that we don't have to carry it all on our own. Forgive us for the times that we've tried to fix things in our own power, for not taking the time to rest, or coming to you first with our needs and burdens. Thank you for the refreshing that comes from your Spirit, filling us with joy, covering us with a shield, leading us forward with hope. Equip us to be those who take notice of others who seem weary and burdened too. Help us to slow down, to take the time, to point others to you.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
Heavenly Father, I come to You right now because I am weary and burdened but I know that You will give me rest. Lord I will take Your yoke upon me and learn from You, for You are humble and gentle in heart and I will find rest for my soul in You. Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light, so Father lighten my load, ease my broken heart and fill me with Your love and peace. My heart is broken but I know that You can mend it. Have Your divine way in me, this I pray. Amen.
Dear God,
The battle feels intense some days. We get tired and weak, weary and worn. It's hard to keep going in the face of defeat. But help us to remember that you will never leave us, that you're our Refuge and our Strength, an ever-present help in trouble. We know that the enemy wouldn't be fighting so hard against us, if we weren't making a difference for your Kingdom. He wouldn't be trying so hard to stop us, if he didn't think you had so much good still in store. Remind us that the battle belongs to you, and whatever we're up against can be taken down in one fail swoop by your Mighty Hand. Help us to trust you more, to never waste time spinning our wheels and wrestling or fighting in our strength. Please forgive us Lord for the times we've failed to lift our hands to you, for the days we've forgotten to come to you first. Fill us with the Power of your Holy Spirit this day. Fill us with your joy, fill us with your wisdom and discernment, fill us with constant reminders that Your Presence will go with us, and you will give us rest.
Amen.
"Lord, I'm weary. My energy is sagging, and my motivation is lagging. And I am so in need of you. I need your strength and your fresh touch to get back on track again. Your Word says the joy of the Lord is my strength. If that's true, then I need your joy to replace all the bone-tired parts of my mind, body, and soul.
The pressures of life sometimes push me into a corner, rendering me helpless to move forward. A hundred voices call my name, and I feel paralyzed at times to answer, not knowing where to turn. Lord, help me not to quit, to keep running the race faithfully, and to find strength in that safe, secret place of yours, under the shadow of the Almighty.
I need your strength to say no when I'm tempted to surrender to harmful things, or when selfishness clings to my clothes and won't let go. I need your strength to say yes, when cowardice and fear nudge me to deny the convictions of my heart. I need your strength to reach out in love to those both close to me and all around me. When don't I need your strength, God?
You are my rock, and I run to you today, believing that you will lift up my heavy arms, that you will fuel me for the tasks you've given me, and that your joy will completely consume the weakness of my life and make me strong again. I don't want to stay grounded, crippled by limitations and failed attempts. I'm tired of feeble efforts. Lord, I want to mount up with wings like an eagle and not just fly. I want to soar.
Renew my strength, Lord. Fill me with your supernatural power to overcome each obstacle in my path. With my eyes on you, Lord, with you walking beside me, working through me, I can make it. Thank you, Lord!"
