Prayer For The Soul Of The Departed Loved Ones
Almighty God, we pray for [name] whom we hold in our love, that You would give peaceful rest in heaven. Refine him/her as silver is refined of all impurities through Your goodness and mercy and find him/her worthy of entering into the place You have prepared. We thank You that when we leave this earthly body that we have an eternal body that You have made for us. Amen.
Most gracious God, we humbly intercede for our most beloved [name], who has died in true faith in You, after living a life of humility and service for You. We know that even his good works would not save him from doom if Your mercy was laid aside. Please give [name] rest from his labors and shelter his soul in the shadow of Your wings. Others are living in denial; they do not want to accept that their loved ones are dead. Lord, heal their hearts and grant them peace. Please give them the courage to accept what has happened and help them to find hope in you. Help those that are bitter to let go and accept your comfort. May they mourn knowing that their loved ones are with you. Assure them that this separation is just for a season if they choose to walk in your ways. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
