Prayer For The Sick And Dying

Dear Heavenly Father, With heavy hearts we come to You. You are Almighty Creator God; holy and full of grace and love. Our hearts are heavy because of a life that is leaving us. Death engulfs us Lord. Fear is waiting to take us down. Thank You Father, that because of Jesus, You know our pain and sorrow intimately. Thank You that Jesus knows the way through this dark shadow. Take the hand of our dear sister/brother and make Yourself known. Guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Keep that which is Your own and take it into eternity to be with You. In Jesus, death is but a shadow. Jesus has swallowed up its sorrows and pain. Thank You Jesus for the cross. Thank You Jesus for the resurrection. Lord, we are before You, confessing that You are Lord of all; the gate keeper to eternal life. Your grace and love abound even as our sin seems ever increasing. Take our hands Lord and lead us through. We lay our fears at your feet. Your promise is that You -- and You alone -- will come to take us home. As it says in Psalm 23:4:Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me(ESV).

Thank you for the comfort we find in Your presence. Through the Holy Spirit we know Your presence is with us. Send us Your peace Lord; the peace that passes all understanding. Don't let us waiver and doubt. Give us a faith that is everlasting. We release our lives into Your hands. As we wait and watch, we know Lord that none of us will escape this journey through death. Teach us how to embrace it with faith. Give us strength to hold up those who are stepping closer to seeing You face to face. Take away the fear in the heart of our loved one who will soon see You; let them find peace in Your grace, comfort in Your love, and strength in Your mighty power over death. Comfort us as our grief seems to over power us.

You are a good, just, righteous, and loving Father. Don't let us grow bitter in this shadow of death. But pierce our hearts with a joy that we can not fathom or understand. A joy that is above all that is corrupted here on earth. Jesus you wept over death and so too, we weep. But it is a grief and a mourning that holds joy on the other side. You are conqueror of all; and so we trust You. We trust that You will do what is right, what is loving. Whether in death or in life Your will is accomplished and You are sovereign. May we know Your presence, Lord. Keep us ever aware of Your loving hand guiding us through all things. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Think, O' God, of our friend who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard.

Comfort them upon their sickbed, and ease their suffering. We beg for deliverance, and submit that no healing is too hard for the Lord, if it be His will.

We therefore pray that You bless our friend with Your loving care, renew their strength, and heal what ails them in Your loving name.

Thank You, Lord. Amen

Heavenly Lord, we stand today in Your grace and everlasting mercy. It is only by Your solid will that we're here today to have this prayer and by Your grace, we come knocking with the rest of mind that you'll answer us.

Oh Lord, we pray in the stead of the sick and dying, that You be with them for all eternity. Turn Your sight, not from their souls, and take their hands in Yours as a father would, his sons and daughters. God, in Your abode, nurture their souls for all eternity and be with all their goals in life.

We thank You for safeguarding them in this world and continuing to do so in the next. Thank You for listening to our prayerAmen.

God in heaven, I put my trust in you, for I know that you will never fail me. Lord, my beloved one has been diagnosed with an incurable disease, and the doctors have said that we only have a few days with him. But lord times and seasons are in your hand. You're the only one who knows what is going to happen a few days from today. Lord, if it is his time to come home and be with you, help us to spend the time that we have with him in peace and love. If it's not your will for him to die, then daddy stretches your healing hand, touch him, and let him receive his healing. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.

God in heaven, fill the hearts of those that are sick, dying, and elderly with hope. Remind them that nothing is too difficult for you because all power and might are in your hands. Father, restore them and make them healthy again that they may be able to serve you and glorify your name. Lord may they soar on wings like eagles that they may run and not grow weary, they may walk and not faint. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.

Father, your Son accepted our sufferings
to teach us the virtue of patience in human illness.
Hear the prayers we offer for our sick brother/sister.
May all who suffer pain, illness or disease
realize that they have been chosen to be saints
and know that they are joined to Christ
in his suffering for the salvation of the world.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Dear God, the doctors have said that I only have a few months to live. I have been told to get everything in order. But that is not what you promised me in the word. You have promised to satisfy me with long life; therefore, I refuse the words that the doctors have spoken over me, and I cancel and nullify that evil report in the name of Jesus Christ. I decree and declare that I'm prospering in my health even as my soul prospers. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father, I have just been diagnosed with an incurable disease. I am worn out, scared, and depressed. I don't know where to turn to, but I know you're with me always. Fight my battles, dear Lord rescue me from this pit and help me to walk in the divine health that Jesus died on the cross for me to have. Uproot fear from my heart and help me to walk in boldness, knowing that the doctor's report is not the final report comes. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen
