Prayer For The Coming Week

Thank you Lord for carrying me when I cannot walk on my own. Thank you that you are all that I need and with you, I have more than enough. Thank you for helping me sustain through the difficulties of life. Thank you that you give me blessing after blessing and that in you I am rich and free. Amen.

Lord, I pray that you will help me to cast my burdens upon you rather than try to solve them myself. I understand that worry is an attempt to control things for which I have no control. Rather, I will concentrate on praying for and seeking your counsel for my life. Help me draw close enough to you that I give you everything; that I communicate with you openly about my fears, cares, and burdens. Amen.

Lord, thank you for the peace, which you have given me. I will confess peace over my life todaya peace, which transcends all understanding; that I may be in the midst of turmoil and those around me, will be in wonder at my lack of anxiousness. Thank you God that you will guard my heart and mind from anxiousness and that you seek only the best for my life. Amen.

Dear Lord, please give me courage to get through this day today and whatever it may bring. I will concentrate on casting my cares upon you, as I know you will uphold me no matter what the situation. You tell me not to be dismayed and I take comfort in knowing that you are my strength. Thank you for the great future you have planned for me. I will rest knowing that you are the author of my future. Amen.

Bless the strangers
I meet today, Lord;
in caf, bakery,
bus stop, car park,
crowded street.
Their lives a mystery,
sorrows, joys, loves
and deep concerns
so well disguised.
But bless them, Lord,
these unknown faces,
make this day
one of encounter,
not only with strangers
but also with you.

Bless the week ahead.
May its challenges
not overwhelm us,
circumstances
not discourage us,
and in all things
may we remember
you are with us
in our journeying,
your love our fuel,
your word our guide,
today and always.

God bless you in rising,
through dawn chorus
and cheerfulness.
God bless you in working,
through honest toil
and service.
God bless you in sharing,
through spoken word
and embracing.
God bless you in resting,
through peaceful sleep
and protection.

As we make our way,
often wearily, to work,
or hop into the car
and do the weekly shop,
we think of those
who through the night
while we were asleep
have stacked the shelves,
made safe the roads,
transported goods,
kept factories running,
cared for the sick and dying.
Bless them with the rest
that they deserve and need,
and may we be thankful
for the work they do
that makes our lives
each day a little easier.
