Saint Michael the Archangel Prayer

The Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel is a popular Catholic prayer. From 1886 to 1964 it was often recited after Mass as a devotion, and sometimes still is today. It is addressed to Saint Michael, an archangel mentioned in the Book of Revelation. Many Catholics use this prayer as a way to pray for the end to evils in the world or to seek protection.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;

Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray.

And do thou, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God,

Cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.
