Prayer For My College Son
Gracious Father, thank you for making my steps firm. Help me to trust in you with all my heart and to lean not on my own understanding. Establish my studies and the works of my hands. May love and faithfulness never leave me that I may win favor in your sight, the sight of my teachers, the administration, and fellow students. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
Father God, you have opened up doors for me to go to college, and I am grateful for that. But honestly, Father, I am terrified because it is a new place with new people and cultures. I don't know how to fit in without compromising my values and faith in you. Be my shield and guide, protect me from the temptations that college students go through. Guard my mind and heart, and spread your protection that I may rejoice over you. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
Dear God, let your peace rule in the hearts of teachers, the administration, parents, and students of this college. May we live peacefully with one other and be holy. Lord, I cast all anxiety associated with college life into your able hands. Please grant me the peace that surpasses understanding that I may be able to balance school and work. Lord, cause every college student in this place to take pleasure in you. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
Heavenly Father, please give me the gift of discernment that I may be able to know the right company. Please help me to choose friends that share my faith and values. May I keep a company of wise friends that will help me to become a better person in my studies and my relationship with you. Please teach me how to be a good friend to my college friends. May wish we strive to become the people you've created us to be. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
Almighty God, grant me a teachable spirit that I may be able to learn from different people that you bring my way in this college. Let every experience that I go through in the years that I'm going to be here be opportunities for me to learn new things. Lead me to the right godly mentors that will help me to become a better person and help me to think long-term. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
Dear God, finding contentment in you alone while in college is proving to be very challenging. Sometimes I want to fit in with different groups that are around, but when I do that, I don't find the same contentment I get when I draw to you. Please, Lord, help me to focus on you that I may find comfort in you alone. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
Oh, Lord, help me to be productive in class and in different departments. As I adapt to this new life at college and learn to live life independently, help me to do everything as unto you and not man. May I always make the best of the time that I have and carry out my studies with all might. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
Everlasting Father, thank you for the great plans that you have for my future. I know that being in college is part of the plan that you've laid out to prepare me for my future. Please help me to walk in the path that you have set for me. Lord, help me always remember that my future is in your hands. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
