Prayer For Marriage
Dear Heavenly Father,
Disagreements over finances, and the stress of debt can wear a couple down. Sometimes it breaks them, and sometimes it makes them stronger together.
We want to fight for our marriage. We want to work through the tough times together, wisely finding ways to manage the money we have, and joyfully accepting all that we're given.
If we come to poverty, help us stand firm on the promise we made, to have and to hold for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer. If we have much, show us ways to invest in our future, and give for Your glory and honour.
Give us a sense of peace and contentment regardless of what state we are in, believing that You will provide for our needs according to Your merciful glory and grace.
Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please help us to grow. Give us the wisdom to put aside our desires for those things that we know to be good.
Grant us the strength to exercise the areas of our lives where we lack. Give us a focus and the perseverance to run.
May we step out in faith rather than sitting around waiting for motivation to move us. We know what we should be doing, and we know what we should be changing, but we're lacking self-discipline. Give us the wisdom to grow and the strength to move forward.
Amen.
Heavenly Father we come before you to thank you for all you have done and continue to do in our lives and marriage. We come before you today, God, asking for a stronger bond of unity in our marriage covenant.
Father we ask that you will give us the ability to be a united front for you letting nothing come between us.
Help us, Father to identify and work through anything that is not pleasing to you so we can continually reach higher levels of unity in our marriage spiritually, physically, and mentally.
We are thankful and excited to see the work of your hand as we do our best to seek your face daily. We love you and thank you for all of these things.
We thank you, O God, for the Love You have implanted in our hearts. May it always inspire us to be kind in our words, considerate of feeling, and concerned for each other's needs and wishes. Help us to be understanding and forgiving of human weaknesses and failings. Increase our faith and trust in You and may Your Prudence guide our life and love. Bless our Marriage O God, with Peace and Happiness, and make our love fruitful for Your glory and our Joy both here and in eternity.
Father, your greatest command was to love You and love each other. You've given marriage as a holy relationship that reflects our relationship with You. Show us how to follow your example and set aside our selfishness and pride and humbly serve each other. Help us to be of one spirit and of one mind and value each other above ourselves, looking out for each other's interests. In the midst of our busy lives, help us take time to love each other deeply from the heart, as you have loved us. May the love we have for each other be an example to the world of how You love them and gave Your life for them.
Lord, I pray for your peace to rule richly in my marriage and in my home. You said in your Word that the peace you give passes all understanding. I receive that peace right now. I choose to let the peace of Christ rest in my heart. As the peace of Christ rest in my heart, it will extend to my marriage.
Loving Lord, we praise You for the works of Your hand, for You are our great Creator of the world and all that is in it, and we bless You for creating man and woman in Your own image and likeness.
Thank You for uniting us together in the bond of marriage, so that we can be to the other a God-given helper, an encourager and a lover. Thank You for the blessings this unique union affords. We are indeed fearfully
and wonderfully made.
Give us I pray, a long and fruitful life together, and may we grow in grace together and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus.
May our home be a place of security and rest, where You are the head of our house, the unseen guest at every meal and the silent listener to every conversation.
Amen.
Loving Father, thank You Lord for the multiplied blessings there are in marriage, and that You made us male and female and united us together in love. Thank You for my wonderful life-partner, whom I see as a gracious gift from You.
Thank You, Lord, for bringing us together in love and for the joy we find in our union with each other and our fellowship with You. I pray that You will continue to draw us closer to each other, to unite us together
in love and friendship and to build up our relationship with each passing day.
Keep us faithful to the vows that we made to each other and to You when we first became one in our beautiful and holy union. Strengthen our marriage day by day, we pray, and during those times of trials and difficulties,
may we cling closer to each other and to You in love and patience, respect and kindness, integrity and forgiveness.
May we keep You as the head of our family union and seek to do only those things that are pleasing in Your sight. In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.
