Prayer For Laity Sunday

Lord Jesus, you gave us an example for leadership!
You sought counsel from Your Heavenly Father in quiet places where you could hear God's voice.
You gave your disciples and those of us who follow you today an illustration of humility as a leader when you washed the feet of your followers.
Help us, we pray, to follow your example.
Let us seek guidance in all things listening for that "still, small, voice."
Continue to remind us that we are to serve others through your perfect model seeking God's will in all we do.
Amen.

I haven't responded to itching ears about your sound doctrine.
I haven't told your truth or shared your word,
and I have allowed your people to wander away.

Forgive, me Lord for my idleness
Now, right, now, I turn back to you and will speak your word of love, hope, and faith as I work in ministry fully to glorify your name.
Amen.

God of Grace and Mercy, You call us to be servants in Your Son's holy name. Help
us to focus on the Christian practice of hospitality by freely giving to others in Your
name. Accept this offering as a profound gesture of our desire to serve You today
and always. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, you have called us all to holiness which means sharing in your divine life. Fill us with a sense of our true dignity as those called to be your daughters and sons in the world and your ambassadors of justice, love and peace. Give us the desire to be worthy of this great calling and the courage to live up to it. We ask this through Christ, our Lord.

God, I stand before you equipped for every good work and not working.

Amen.

Gracious God, you have abundantly and richly provided us with more than we shall ever need. We thank you for the abundance and we thank for our ability to share what you have bestowed upon us. Give us guidance and direction and we continue to serve others who are in need. Bless our small groups and let our works be mighty in your Name. Open our hearts to always give freely and gladly to people everywhere. We know that together as a church and as your people, you will strengthen and grace us with your goodness. We are thankful for the laity of our church and around the world. Bless the laity, so that they can be faithful in their call to serve and do your will. We give you all the thanks and praise, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen
