Prayer for Holy Saturday
Holy Saturday is the most sparse day of the entire Church year. Very little "happens" on this day, as we recall the time Jesus was lying dead in the tomb. During this time, we wait along with the apostles and the Virgin Mary, preparing to celebrate His resurrection at the vigil of Easter. The following Holy Saturday prayer reflects the theme of Jesus in the tomb and our preparation for Easter.
Prayer for Holy Saturday
Father, Creator of heaven and earth,
Grant that as your Son, Jesus, lay dead in the tomb, on this holy Sabbath,
That we may wait along with Him, and the holy apostles and blessed Virgin Mary,
For His glorious resurrection on Easter morning.
Grant us the grace to boldly celebrate His conquering of sin and death.
Amen.
