Prayer For Future Spouse

O Lord,

I feel in myself a great emptiness, which neither friendship nor study fill. I do not know who will come to fill it: will it be God? Will it be another creature? If it is a creature, I pray that it will take some time in coming, when I have become worthy.

I pray that it will bring with it the necessary external charms so as not to leave any room for regret. But I especially pray that this creature, she, will come with an excellent soul, will bring great virtue, and will be much better than I am, that she draw me upward, that she not drag me down, that she be generous because I am often timid, that she be fervent because I am lukewarm in the things of God, and, finally, that she be compassionate so that I, in my inferiority, may not have to blush before her.

Do not forsake me, Lord. Grant that I may be loved. You know it is not only sweetness that I seek in Love; it is the contempt for all baseness, it is the strength to fight for the Good, for the True.

Amen.

Loving Father, if I am called to the sacramental life of matrimony, hear my prayer now for the person who will be my spouse. Be with her today and every day. Help her through the challenges of becoming an adult and send my support in prayer through any difficulties. In this way, may I genuinely love this person even before we meet. I ask for help ahead of time to be respectful and honourable when we meet and begin a relationship. I ask for help ahead of time to be faithful, supportive, strong, and as loving as I can be when we are married. If I am privileged to help create new human beings, I pray today for my children. You exist outside of time, and you know who they will be, so I can pray for them now. Help me to do everything I can now to become the best parent I can be for them, from the day they are born to the day you call me home to heaven. Amen

As I put myself in right standing and relationship with Christ I declare that death and hell no longer have a place to take or hold ground against my life, my children (if any) or future children born or adopted the Lord has for me.

Father, I beseech you, prepare my heart and my life for my future spouse. Prepare also the heart and life my future spouse. Indeed even the future spouse of each of my children and the generations ahead. I call for deliverance for each and that each also be educated, informed and understand about generational curses. Ensure each is cleansed from the iniquity of her/her bloodlines, and that marriages are entered into without the shadow of sin, iniquity, transgression and curses.

I pray they remain in that state.

Have each well prepared for the other, and I trust You and You alone to bring us together when we are adequately prepared for one another and at a time you choose.

According to Malachi 2:15 your desire is for godly offspring. Therefore, ensure my spouse and I together raise a family free from inherited generational curses, and train our children in the ways of the LORD. So that when they are old they will not have departed from it (Proverbs 22:6). I pray the same for each of my succeeding generations.

As one who is a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, I command every demonic spirit on assignment over my life to return to the place that Jesus made for you. I command you never to return. Do not come back. You are rejected. I want nothing to do with you and I resist you! I submit only to God. He alone has dominion over me. According to James 4:7 you must now flee from me, my home and everything that concerns to me or will concern to me. Get out in Jesus name!

According to Job 22: 28, I decree the curses over my home, myself and my family, and all that pertains to us be broken now, in Jesus name.

I thank You, my Father, for having a way us to receive Your complete restoration and the blessings that have been held back.

I bow to You. According to Ephesians 5:18 I ask that Your Holy Spirit fill me. Grant me wisdom according to James 1: 5 rant me godly wisdom to deal with this area of my life. I declare that you have given me a spirit of power love and a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7) to enable me to live according to Your commands.

In Jesus name, Amen.

If I do anything Father,

let it be for Your glory and that is why I am praying to You for a godly future spouse or one I am already engaged with. Perhaps it's someone I already know or someone who's in my church. Please help me to know and be convinced in my heart that this person is the spouse that would have me to be with for life and for them to be a good match for me so that we might bring up godly children for Your glory but to focus on myself too so that I can become the person who someone would want to marry. Who else but You God knows what lies in my future and You alone know what is best for me; better than I do. I commit my life to You and put in Your sovereign hands a future that I cannot see but one that You already know. This is where I want to glorify You and to give You praise and honor and glory for all that is to come in my life and in the precious name of the Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord, amen.

Great God in heaven,

sometimes it feels hopeless for me to ever find a godly mate. Please help me to be strengthened at times when my faith is weak and when I grow despondent as if nothing will ever change. Help me to see with the eyes of faith and not of the flesh and to trust in You for all that is to happen in my life. You know my heart and how I feel and only You can help me when I feel down. You alone can lift me up when I feel broken. You are the God of hope for the hopeless so restore my hope in a future that You have planned for me and then do what I am supposed to do in my life so that, if You are willing, You might send someone into my life that I can have a relationship that honors you and glorifies You so that my future spouse and I can live as You designed us to live; to love one another and to serve one another in a way that You sent Your Son to come and give His life for us so that we could be redeemed. I admit my doubts, my fears, and my restlessness in seeking a godly mate and so help me to trust in You alone for the future that You hold for me and in the holy name of Jesus Christ I pray, amen.

O Jesus, lover of the young, the dearest Friend I have, in all confidence I open my heart to You to beg Your light and assistance in the important task of planning my future. Give me the light of Your grace, that I may decide wisely concerning the person who is to be my partner through life. Dearest Jesus, send me such a one whom in Your divine wisdom You judge best suited to be united with me in marriage. May her/his character reflect some of the traits of Your own Sacred Heart. May s/he be upright, loyal, pure, sincere and noble, so that with united efforts and with pure and unselfish love we both may strive to perfect ourselves in soul and body, as well as the children it may please You to entrust to our care. Bless our friendship before marriage, that sin may have no part in it. May our mutual love bind us so closely, that our future home may ever be most like Your own at Nazareth.

O Mary Immaculate, sweet Mother of the young, to your special care I entrust the decision I am to make as to my future wife/husband. You are my guiding Star! Direct me to the person with whom I can best cooperate in doing God's Holy Will, with whom I can live in peace, love and harmony in this life, and attain to eternal joys in the next.
Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the lives of each of my lovely grandchildren that You have so graciously brought into my life. They all give me such joy and pleasure, for which I praise and thank You.
Lord, You have scheduled every day of their lives, and I pray that as they grow up into adulthood You would continue to lead and guide, to instruct and to correct. Father, I also pray that You would develop in each one a heavenly perspective and a true understanding of the Christian life and spiritual maturity, so that they grow in grace and in a right relationship with You.
Bring the right spouse into the life of each of these dear grandchildren of mine I pray. In Your grace I pray that they be granted the husband or wife of Your choice, so that together they may become a threefold cord with You, which is not easily broken.
Thank You, Lord so much, for every one of my grandchildren. Into Your hands I commit each one. May they sense Your calling on their lives, so that they develop into mighty men and women who love You deeply and trust in You implicitly. In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen.
