Prayer For Finding Lost Dog

St. Francis and St. Anthony,
please come promptly to the aid of this
precious pet,
and those who love him/her so,
and enable him/her to find his/her
way back home,
having suffered no ill effects
from her separation
from her family.
Thank you sweet Jesus
for your mercy on this family
and their dearly
loved pet,
and for restoring him/her to them.
It is in your name we pray,
Amen.

Dear St. Anthony,
you are the patron of the poor and
the helper of all who seek lost articles.
Help me to find the beloved pet I have lost
so that I will be able to make better use of the time that I will gain for God's greater honor and glory. Grant your gracious aid to all people
who seek what they have lost -
especially those who seek to regain God's grace.
Amen.

Blessed are you, Lord God, for all living creatures you have made. You keep them in your care and not one of them is lost without you knowing. They glorify you, each in its own way, and speak to us of your beauty and love. Bless them and keep them from harm. They unquestionably accept their place in the rhythm of your creation. May we respect them and cherish them for they are your gift to us; through them may we come to know you better and praise you, their Creator. Blessed be the love and joy that they bring to us. Amen.

Father, We ask you to help us find ____, our dear pet who is now lost.

We know that you placed animals on the earth for many reasons, including companionship for man.

We therefore ask you to help us find our lost companion, and pray that You will keep him (her) safe and protect him (her) from harm until he (she) is found.

We join our prayers with St. Francis, St. Anthony of Padua, and all the saints, and pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

O God, for our friends, the animals, especially for those who are suffering; for animals that are overworked, underfed, and cruelly treated; for all the wistful creatures in captivity, that beat their wings against bars; for any that are hunted or lost or deserted, or frightened or hungry; for all that must be put to death.

We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity, and for those who deal with them, we ask a heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words.

Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals and so to share the blessings of the Merciful. Amen.

Dear Jesus, seeker of the lost, I pray for your help today in finding my lost pet. I thank you that you are the Good Shepherd who cares deeply about us. Thank you for creating the love and affection I have for my pet and for caring deeply about my sorrow and sense of loss and loneliness I feel without them. I pray the seeking power of Luke 15 4-6 for myself as I look for my pet:

Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' (New International Version.)

Please give me the wisdom to seek well and the patience to continue searching.

Please protect and care for my pet while they are lost. Send good people to act as angels to care for, protect and rescue my pet as they wander.

And if in the end my efforts to find my pet are unsuccessful, I pray that my pet will be a joy and a blessing to a new family somewhere who will love them as much as I do.

I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
