Prayer For Death Of A Son
Abba Father, We long to be with our dear beloved child, our hearts are heavy with deep sorrow and our breath is shallow. Please carry us, for we are overwhelmed by the pain of our grief. Words can not express the depth of our loss or the heartache we feel. We know you are with our dear beloved son (daughter), your heart is overjoyed by him. His breath is new life in Heaven. Please come and nurture our precious one. Thank you for the hope of eternal life that he has now received. Lord, you will keep him safe until we meet. We entrust him into your care now. Amen.
Dear Father, Your Spirit carries the softness of eternity. You are the fragrance of comfort, you are the enfolding lullaby. Please encircle my dear friend in her grief. Cocoon her within your arms of love, whisper heavenly truth into her soul and keep each fragment of her broken heart safe. When we are in pieces your presence will keep us. So I lay her in your strong arms Jesus. Come carry her. Watch steadily over her day and night. May she come to know that her beloved child is safe with you. Not lost but found, known and cherished. Amen.
God, I pray that during the quiet and still moments where our mind is racing and our heart is hurting, that you would help us to feel at peace. I pray for the family of this baby who is grieving, that they would find quiet, peaceful, and comforting moments. We are weary and tired, God. We longed to get to meet this baby and see him/her grow up but now we won't be able to. Help us to not become bitter or hard-hearted but to rely on you for strength and healing.
God, sometimes it is so hard to not be discouraged when life seems to be shattered. The hurt and pain that comes from losing a child is unbearable some days. Although I know my friend's heart will never fully be healed from the loss of his/her baby, will you please give them an extra dose of strength today? Will you remind them that they don't have to fear the future because you are right by their side? Thank you for the way you help us and strengthen us during our heartache.
Lord, You gave me this precious son of mine for a season and with it the great responsibility and joy of guiding him through his childhood years and into manhood, and now I find that I am having to entrust him back into Your loving arms.
Lord, I do thank You for the joy he has given me over these special years of his life, and the pride I had as I watched him spread his own wings as he started to make his way in life, growing in favour with You and with so many others too.
Lord, I ask You to hold me close in Your own loving embrace, as this is such a pain to have to say goodbye to my dearly beloved son. I know that his life was only entrusted to me for a season, that our times are in Your hands, and that You have scheduled each day of our lives, but I did not expect that he would be called home before me.
Pour out Your loving comfort and strength to me Lord, and to all of us who feel his loss so acutely. May we draw closer to each other and to You as we say our farewells for a season, as we wait for that blessed hope when once again we will all be reunited in Your heaven. May Your peace and joy and hope in believing, comfort us all at this time. This I ask in Jesus' name,
Amen.
Father, I ask for Your comfort and peace for these dear people who are grieving the loss of their child. Lord, this little one was brought into the world and placed into their family, and now they have to go through the sadness of losing such a treasure. My heart is breaking for them.
Lord, You know the pain and grief that they are going through, and You understand the sadness and confusion they are facing, which must be tinged with so many unanswered questions as to why this had to happen to them.
Draw very close to them, for You are the God of all comforts, Who has promised to comfort each one of us in all our afflictions and pain. Minister to their needs and Lord, despite the sadness that they are going through at this moment I pray that this would draw them into a place where they cast all their burdens and pain onto You and trust You to bring them through losing this child. I ask this in Jesus' name,
Amen
Lord, I pray Your emotional, physical, and spiritual protection over my son. Keep evil far from him, and help him to trust You as his refuge and strength. I pray You will guard his mind from harmful instruction, and grant him discernment to recognize truth. I pray You will make him strong and courageous in the presence of danger, recognizing that You have overcome and will set right all injustice and wrong one day. Help him to find rest in Your shadow, as he lives in the spiritual shelter You provide for him. Let him know that the only safe place is in Jesus, and that his home on earth is only temporary.
Heavenly Father, help us to model a healthy example of how to handle possessions and money. Help us to work hard, but to not wear ourselves out in order to get rich so that our children can witness a positive, godly view of hard work and the pursuit of success.
We pray that our sons would persevere in whatever vocation you give them and that they would work with cheerful hearts as if they were serving you directly.
We pray that our sons would see at an early age that money and possessions are a gift from You and thus must be always held with an open hand so that You can use those gifts to bless others.
We ask that our sons would find their value in their true identity as a child of You, not in the possessions they do or do not have. We pray for contentment and gratefulness in whatever situation they're givenrich or poor. We pray they would have a steadfast commitment to work hard with the talents you've given them so that they could support themselves, their families and use their money as a way to bless others in need.
Ultimately, we pray that they would discover that the greatest wealth they could possess would be in relationships, especially in a relationship with You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
