Prayer For Church Ministries

Lord, I lift up the children and youth in my congregation to You. May the little ones remain humble examples of what we adults need to become in the kingdom. Let their conduct always be pure and right with reputations that show that they remember You, Creator God. Teach them to declare Your marvelous deeds. May they flee evil desires and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace.

Lord, I lift up my elders (church board) to You. Help us respect and honor them as they direct the affairs of our church. May they wholeheartedly give their attention to prayer and ministry of the Word. Keep them above reproach, devoted to their families, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable and able to teach. May they be gentle and honest as they deal with people.

Lord, I lift up my pastor to You. Thank You for his servant's heart. Keep him from losing heart when ministry gets tough. Help him prove faithful with the things you have entrusted to him. Teach him Your ways so that he knows You and finds favor with You as He leads us. Keep him open and honest before You and help him to represent the truth plainly.

Loving Lord, we thank You that you have seen fit to place us in this little corner of Your vast world to be ministers unto You and to those whom You choose to place in our path. May we be faithful servants as we share the good news of the glorious gospel of Christ, and witness to the amazing grace whereby we have all been saved.

Thank You, for the seeds of the gospel of grace that have been quietly growing down through the centuries of time. Thank You, that we have been brought into that great family of God and have become a part of the growing body of Christ, separated into the gospel, by faith in Him.

Thank You, for the good work of grace that You have begun in our lives and all those with whom we are called to minister. May we be kept humble before You and prevent us from an attitude of self-inflated importance but rather let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith and ministry.

Lord, we pray that the Lord Jesus may be exulted in all we do, and may we submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit in all we undertake. Open ministry doors, as You see fit, so that we may shed abroad more of Your saving and sanctifying grace to those in need. May we continue to grow in grace and wisdom and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, and may all we say and do point others to Jesus, so that His name is glorified in all we say and do.

We ask this in the name of Jesus,

Amen.

Loving Heavenly Father, Who causes all the Holy scripture to be written for our learning, open our hearts and minds I pray, so that we are willing to hear and understand all that Your Holy Spirit has to teach us today.

May we read, mark, learn and inwardly digest, all that You have graciously condescended give us in Your Word. Help us not only to be hearers of Your Word, but those that take and apply all that we learn from You in our lives, to Your praise and glory.

Guide me I pray, as I seek to minister the truth of Your Word. Give us all ears that are ready to listen and hearts that are willing to learn, and may we all be fed from the living Bread, Who Himself came down from heaven to be our Saviour and Lord.

I ask this in the name of our precious Saviour, Jesus Christ our Lord,

Amen.

Dear Lord, You know the desire of my heart, and how You have been gently leading me to this very point in my life. Thank You, for all the lessons I have learned so far and make me willing, I pray, to continue to be ready to listen to Your gentle promptings.

Lord, I come to You as I make preparation for the next step in my life and ministry. Lord, I want to remain right in the centre of Your will and ask that by Your love and grace, You would continue to give me Your gracious promoting along my path.

As I prepare to move into this new position of leadership in this exciting ministry, keep me low before the cross. May all I say and do be guided by You alone. Keep me from hankering after the praises of men, but rather, Lord, give me a teachable Spirit that comes from You, so that I may be pleasing in Your sight.

Endow me with wisdom and give me the servant spirit of Christ that I may lead by example. Keep me from compromising the truth of Your Word, and may I run the race that is set before me with patient endurance, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith, in Whose name I pray,

Amen.

Loving Lord and Heavenly King, thank You for the work in ministering to others, that in Your kindness, You have placed me. Father, there are many challenges and many temptations in the ministry into which You have seen fit to place me, and I pray that in all things You would give me wisdom, discernment, integrity and a humility that only comes from You.

Keep me from being influenced by the flattering tongues of men and women, and keep me ever mindful that this is not my exclusive ministry, but simply the place that You have seen fit to place me for the time-being.

Help me to use my time wisely, and to be prudent in the way I spend ministry resources. Keep me in the road of righteousness, for His names sake. I pray this in Jesus' name,

Amen.

Loving Lord, we desire in this ministry to lift up the lovely name of the Lord Jesus, and to glorify our Father in heaven. Bless our ministry we pray, and may Your Holy Spirit lead and guide all we say and do. May we be changed more and more into the image of Jesus as we seek to follow His command, to love as He has loved us.

Protect us Lord, from the wiles of the enemy who would seek to destroy the good work that You are doing. Build us up in the unity of the Spirit and may we be transformed more and more into the likeness of Christ by the renewing of our mind, day by day.

Keep us Lord, from following our own fleshly pursuits, but rather may we be guided by You in all the areas of this ministry work. Provide for all our needs, knowing that You are One Who has promised to supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory.

Guard us, guide us, keep up and use us as You see fit. In Jesus' name we pray,

Amen.
