Dear Lord, I am sick and have cancer and I am so worried and concerned knowing that my life seems so fragile. I pray that You will give me Your peace in my heart and lift the weight of worry that has been weighing me down, since I discovered that I am sick.
But Lord, I know that You are an amazing God. You took all the punishment for sin upon Your body on the Tree and by Your stripes we are healed in every area of life. I ask You to equip me for what lies ahead.
I pray that my faith may be rooted and grounded on You alone, and that I am enabled to take up the shield of faith so that I trust my life entirely into Your hands. Thank You for the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God and for the many precious promises of Your love and care that are found within its pages. Give me grace to cast my care on You knowing that I am safe in the hands of Jesus.
I also pray that You will guard and protect my family, and the lives of all I love, knowing that this cancer is a daunting prospect for each of them too.
Thank You that my times are in Your hands, and thank You Lord for Your peace that passes all understanding.
Amen.
