Prayer For Bitterness
Father in the name of Jesus, I present myself before you and I completely humble and submit myself before you. I ask that you will begin to expose every root of bitterness that is operating and hidden in my life. I pray that the Holy Spirit will arise on my behalf and begin to uproot precisely every form of bitterness lodged in my life.
Father, I choose to forgive those who have hurt and mistreated me (names). Lord, I ask that you heal my soul and completely renew my emotions. I repent to you father and confess my sins or rebellion that I have committed. I ask for forgiveness for holding on to grudges and bitterness. Lord, cleanse my heart and my mind. Provide me the strength and grace to fully obey you.
I choose to fall out of agreement with any and all symptoms and past experiences that generated bitterness. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I break and renounce all ungodly soul-ties from past relationships and experiences. I cast out all spirits of hurt and deep hurt out of my life; as a result of past and present relationships. Father, I ask that you free me from any fear, torment or intimidation from past or present relationships. Lord, I pray that angels will be released to war on my behalf. I annihilate the spirit of insecurity, resentment and un-forgiveness.
I bind up all forms of witchcraft and mind control that work to undermine my soul. I bind spirits of chronic contention and pride. I pray Lord that these spirits completely cease it's operation in my life. I pray that the angels of the Lord will be activated to arrest spirits of confusion, depression, anger, resentment and lust for revenge. Lord, I ask that you release clarity and the ability to effectively stabilize my soul.
Father, with your anointing, I pull down mindsets of false love and false humility that may be working in me in Jesus name. I renounce and cast out spirits of lust, uncleanness, fornication, adultery, homosexuality and pornography. I command these spirits to leave my life now in Jesus name.
Father, I pray that you heal me from every spirit of rejection and replace it with the confidence of your grace. Lord, forgive me for yielding to the emotional pain of bitterness and allowing it to control my life. I choose to repent and humble myself and follow your word and process of complete deliverance.
I renounce any and all forms of church hurt that have held me captive from fulfilling your will and purpose in my life. I forgive that leader or leaders (names) that hurt me. I forgive any saints that have caused me emotional pain. Lord, help me to fully love again that I may be pleasing to you.
Forgive me for my sin, rebellion and anger that I've committed in the church. Help me Lord to correct any deceptive perceptions that I have embraced. Holy Spirit, arise in my life; I submit to the process of deliverance. Cause my motives to align themselves with sincerity and a spirit of integrity. Father, create in me a clean heart and renew in me a right spirit.
I release the love of God and His healing power over me now. Lord, I believe and release my faith in your word to completely restore and heal my soul. I speak life and prosperity to my soul. Thank you Father for hearing my prayer, in Jesus name, amen.
Lord, You are all-powerful and almighty. You created the sun and the stars, the seas and the heavens above, the earth and all creatures upon itthe very universe and time itself. Who then are we to stand in Your way and let our tiny flares of rage ignite? Help us to step back and allow You and only You to reign supreme. Help us to know and take comfort that You will dole out Your holy wrath justly and completely.
Enable us to rest in the peace of being Your child, Your people, knowing You will handle all things in Your perfect time. Help us set aside the fury and the frenzy, the angst and the nascent seeds of hate beginning to sow. Let us remember the wisdom you gave us through Your servant, James, that everyone should Be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires (James 1:19-20).
Let us remember the proper motivationnot pride, not prejudice, not personal insult or attack, not fear, but rather a deep and pure affront to God and all You hold dear. Allow our anger to make room for You at the center to honor You and to care for Your people above all. Give us a spirit of peace and rest in You. In Your holy name we pray, amen.
Oh, Lord, we know from Your Holy Word that anger can well up inside us, turn our thoughts from You and channel them into destructive, evil notions that lead us astray. We are often brimming over with emotion. From happiness and surprise to anger, fear, and disgust, our feelings are natural and by design. Some of these feelings are glorious and blissful, but others, left unchecked, can steer us away from You and all the good You intend. Sometimes they fester so long and so deep they begin to rot inside of us.
Anger can turn from a dull flare to a throbbing flame and eventually to a wildfire, reaping only destruction in its wake. Help us, Lord, to remember Your instructions throughout Scripture about anger. Help us to honor Your words to the Apostle Paul: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry (Ephesians 4:26) and, Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice (Ephesians 4:31). Help us to stamp out anger before it becomes a fiery flare, and help us choose to remain calm and talk things out in love with the spirit of correction and accountability, rather than fighting. Instead of resentment and bitterness, let seeds of love and reconciliation grow in our hearts seeds that point to You and Your way, not our own.
Lord, hear our prayer. Amen.
Father, life seems so unjust, so unfair. The pain of rejection is almost more than I can bear. My past relationships have ended in strife, anger, rejection, and separation.
Lord, help me to let go of all bitterness and indignation and wrath (passion, rage, bad temper) and resentment (anger, animosity).
You are the One Who binds up and heals the broken-hearted. I receive Your anointing that destroys every yoke of bondage. I receive emotional healing by faith, and I thank You for giving me the grace to stand firm until the process is complete.
Thank You for wise counselors. I acknowledge the Holy Spirit as my wonderful Counselor. Thank You for helping me work out my salvation with fear and trembling, for it is You, Father, Who works in me to will and to act according to Your good purpose.
In the name of Jesus, I choose to forgive those who have wronged me. I purpose to live a life of forgiveness because You have forgiven me. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, and slander, along with every form of malice. I desire to be kind and compassionate to others, forgiving them, just as in Christ You forgave me.
With the help of the Holy Spirit, I make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy, for I know that without holiness no one will see You, Lord. I purpose to see to it that I do not miss Your grace and that no bitter root grows up within me to cause trouble.
I will watch and pray that I enter not into temptation or cause others to stumble.
Thank You, Father, that You watch over Your Word to perform it and that whom the Son has set free is free indeed. I declare that I have overcome resentment and bitterness by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony.
In Jesus' name, amen.
Mighty God, thank you that you give the gift of abundant, eternal life. May my life be free from resentment and filled with thanksgiving and praise for your countless blessings. The Bible teaches that you never fail to provide for your people. Set me free from resentment as I give thanks for your blessings and am assured that you will continue to generously supply my every need. May grace, mercy, and peace be with me, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Son, in truth and love. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
O Lord, my God, you are my shepherd. You guide me and provide for me. When I start to feel resentment due to the circumstances around me, remind me that you have prepared a table for me and you can give me peace. Your anointing and blessings are upon every aspect of my life. Remove my resentment and set me free from frustration. May your goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life that I may dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Father, I acknowledge that I've held resentment and bitterness against (name). I confess this as sin and ask You to forgive me. I forgive (name). Remind me, Lord, to not hold any more resentments, but rather to love this person. Father, I ask You to also forgive (name) . Thank You for hearing and answering my prayer. In Jesus' Holy Name, Amen.
Dear heavenly Father, these Scriptures cut to the chase and bring conviction to our hearts. We are your beloved daughters and sons, but today we are also your busted daughters and sons; for resentment comes to us as quickly as someone steals our parking place, or eats the saran-wrapped piece of cake we hid in the frig, or fails to include us in some social event. It's amazing how quickly a little slight can launch us into a big spite. Have mercy on us, Lord, and grant us fresh grace, thicker skin and bigger hearts.
But Father, being slighted is one thing, but being assaulted by the betrayals and failures, deceit and lies, attacks and abuse of others, is an altogether different matter. These aren't things to shake off, but deep wounds, broken hearts, and incredible pain to bring to your throne of grace. You're not calling us to denial, but to yourself. Have mercy on us, Lord, have big mercy; and grant us wisdom, strength and tons of grace.
Fatherthrough the power of your Holy Spirit, the truth of the gospel, and the gift of community, don't let our appropriate anger morph into destructive revenge. Don't let our raw hurts become a band of vigilante marauders, not just bent on getting even, but upping the anterepaying harm for harm, evil for evil, and death for death.
Don't let our vulnerable hearts become gardens for the planting of roots of resentment and bushes of bitterness; and keep us from medicating our pain foolishly. Father, as Jesus has forgiven us, so help us to want to forgive others. Write stories of redemption and restoration with the ink of our hurt and your grace. So very Amen we pray, in Jesus' tender and triumphant name.
