The Hail Mary in Latin

The Ave Maria is a well known Latin Catholic prayer. Ave Maria is also a hymn used within the Church as well as in classical music, and many people are familiar with its lyrics. Ave Maria means "Hail Mary" in Latin, and is a prayer to Mary, asking her to pray for us. Many Christians are blessed by this Latin version of the Hail Mary.

Ave Maria, gratia plena,

Dominus tecum

Benedicta tu in mulieribus,

Et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei

Ora pro nobis peccatoribus,

Nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae.

Amen.
