Prayer For A Sound Mind
Almighty God, We bless you for our lives, we give you praise for your abundant mercy and grace we receive. We thank you for your faithfulness even though we are not that faithful to you. Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around peace in our mind, body, soul, and spirit. We want you to heal and remove everything that is causing stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives.
Please guide our path through life and make our enemies be at peace with us. Let your peace reign in our family, at our place of work, businesses and everything we lay our hands on.
Let your angels of peace go ahead of us when we go out and stay by our side when we return. In Jesus' name, Amen.
God, who is more than we can ever comprehend,
help us to seek you,
and you alone.
Help us to stand before all that we could do
and seek what you would do,
and do that.
Lift from us our need to achieve all that we can be
and instead,
surrender to what you can be in us.
Give us ways to refrain from the busyness
that will put us on edge and off center,
give us today your peace.
Slow me down, Lord!
Ease the pounding of my heart
By the quieting of my mind.
Steady my harried pace
With a vision of the eternal reach of time.
Give me,
Amidst the confusions of my day,
The calmness of the everlasting hills.
Break the tensions of my nerves
With the soothing music
Of the singing streams
That live in my memory.
Help me to know
The magical power of sleep,
Teach me the art
Of taking minute vacations
Of slowing down
To look at a flower;
To chat with an old friend
Or make a new one;
To pet a dog;
To watch a spider build a web;
To smile at a child;
Or to read a few lines from a good book.
Remind me each day
That the race is not always won by the swift;
That there is more to life
Than increasing its speed.
Let me look upward
Into the branches of the towering oak
And know that it grew great and strong
Because it grew slowly and well.
Slow me down, Lord,
And inspire me to send my roots deep
Into the soil of life's enduring values
That I may grow toward the stars
Of our greater destiny.
Oh Yahweh, Lord God Almighty, clear my mind as my thoughts run rampant in my head. Stress is getting the better of me.
Help me to keep focused on You, Lord, making You the center of my life. Everything else will fall into place because if I seek You first. All righteousness will surely be added unto me, Your faithful follower.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that (person(s) name) will come to the knowledge (and deliverance power) of the Truth and be saved from destruction (of mental illness). Father, according to Psalm 107:20, You sent Your Word and healed (person(s) name) and delivered him/her from all his/her destructions. I am calling upon You in the day of trouble, asking You to deliver(person(s) name) and in the name of Jesus he/she shall honor and glorify You. Father, I thank You for delivering his/her soul from death and his/her feet from falling, so that he/she may walk before You.
It is You, Father, Who delivers (person(s) name) from the pit and corruption of (name of disorder: schizophrenia, paranoia, manic depression, etc.) Father, You have not given him/her a spirit of timidity and fear, but You have given (person(s) name)a spirit of power and of love and of calm and well balanced mind and discipline and self-control.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind,(2 Tim 1:7) KJV
In the name of Jesus, I ask You, Father to forgive (person(s) name)sins and (and his/her ancestors' sins, and now) I stand in the gap for him/her until he/she (like King Nebuchadnezzar) comes to his/her senses and escaped out of the snare of the devil, who has held him/her captive.
Father, I commit to pray on (person(s) name) behalf making up the hedge, and standing in the gap before You for her/him, that your mercy might triumphant over judgment. Jesus, You defeated the devil for(person(s) name) we take back everything Satan as stolen from him/her.
I decree and declare that the law of the (Holy) Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made him/her free from the law of sin and death. (Person(s) name)shall no longer be of 2 minds hesitating, dubious, irresolute unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything (he/she thinks, feels and decides). (Person(s) name) shall get rid of all uncleanness, receive and welcome the Word, which, implanted and rooted [in his/her heart], contains the power to save his/her soul (mind, will, and emotions).
In the name of Jesus, grace be to (person(s) name) and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave Himself for his/her (and his ancestors') sin so that He might deliver him/her from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father, to Whom be glory forever and ever. Dear Heavenly Father, I come before you in Jesus Name. Thank you for promising us a sound mind. I lay claim to that promise for (name of child/person).
I pray that (his/her/their) mind be clear, alert, bright, intelligent, stable, peaceful and uncluttered. I pray there will be no confusion, no dullness and no unbalanced, scattered, unorganized, or negative thinking.
I pray that (his/her/their) mind will not be filled with complex or confusing thoughts. Rather, give (him/her/them) clarity of mind so that (he/she/they) is able to think straight at all times.
Give (him/her/them) the ability to make clear decisions, to understand all (he/she/they) needs to know, and to be able to focus on what (he/she/they) needs to do. Where there is now any mental instability, impairment, or dysfunction, I speak healing in Jesus' Name.
May (he/she/they) be renewed in the spirit of (his/her/their) mind (Ephesians 4:23) and have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16).
I pray that (he/she/they) will so love the Lord with all (his/her/their) heart, soul and mind that there will be no room in (him/her/them) for the lies of the enemy or the pollution of the world.
May the Word of God take root in (his/her/their) heart and fill (his/her/their) mind with things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).
Give (him/her/them) understanding that what goes into (his/her/their) mind becomes part of (him/her/them), so that (he/she/they) will weigh carefully what (he/she/they) sees and hears.
You have said, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You (Isaiah 26:3). I pray that (his/her/their) faith is You and Your Word will grow daily so that (he/she/they) will live forever in peace and soundness of mind.
I pray for peace of mind and healing from anxiety and fear and depression. I pray for Gods guidance for my doctors and therapist. I hold onto God and the promise in His word for the peace that passes all understanding as I trust in Him. Lord show me how to cast my cares onto you and let go of my worries.
All knowing God, I pray to ask for even a portion of your wisdom. When I normally react with fear and distress, I ask you to replace that with power, love, and a sound mind. Give me a clear mind and help me make wise decisions. Help me to react in a way that honors you, not a way that makes people doubt your power and authority. Amen.
