Prayer For A Mom

Heavenly Father,

Thank you so much for my mother and her devotion to our family and me.

Thank you, Lord, that in your infinite design and plan for my life, you chose her for me.

Forgive me when I have failed to see her true value in my life. I have taken her presence for granted.

I am sorry for undermining her significance and for not holding her up to the esteemed level she deserved.

I fully acknowledge the honor of motherhood.

Every mother's burning desire to be nurturing and protective of their children is admirable.

The tireless days of juggling tasks and children while embracing a Godly attitude requires both physical and spiritual strength.

You supply her with the fortitude to continue on.

Your grace flows to us as children from our mothers. Please help my mother to fully devote herself to you, the Almighty Sustainer and Healer of Life.

Help her to rest in knowing you are in control of your plans for her. May she find rest and peace in her assurance of your promises.

My heart is full of gratitude to you, Lord, for this woman who gave birth to me and for you who formed me in the womb.

I love and cherish my mother and trust you to hold her tightly in the palm of your hand.

When my mother struggles with pain or sickness, help her to fight the fear or worry amidst it all.

Help her to feel your presence and forgive her when doubting.

We know you are in control of her health no matter how well or sick she is.

You use all things to work for good and although we may not understand your plans, help us to accept your perfect will.

Father, my mother, needs your grace and compassion in healing.

Your Word tells us that if we call out to you, you will hear our cry (Psalm 107:19-20.) We lay our worries at your feet.

Help me Lord to help my mother and place in me a servant's heart to minister to her needs. I pray these things in Jesus' name, Amen

Dear Lord,

May her birthday be as special as she is - full of joy and laughter, overflowing with grace. Fill her home with gifts and cards, and her heart with pride and love. Gather up her memories and wrap them with sweet peace. Let her stroll and feel the breeze of your hope. Show her beauty in the skies and goodness in the fields. Whisper promises and dreams into her gentle ears. For she has given out so much, I hope she will receive all our love and gratitude for all the special years.

Amen.

May my mum feel in her heart
A sense of joy and peace.
May she dwell in fondest memories
Of little hands and feet.
And know that every loving touch
Each carry, hug or kiss,
Is like a pot of treasure
That she has given me.

May you watch and care for her
Like she has cared for me.
Help her see the lovely woman
She has always been.
Help her rest and find the peace
A mothers loving needs.
Give her patience, wisdom, grace
To understand and see.

That what I have, the love investment,
All I have received,
Is down to her deep love for you,
And what she's taught to me.
That we have a heavenly Father
Who hears our every prayer,
And when we call upon his name,
He is always there.
So I can follow in her steps
And feed my children love.
Because I know that God loves me,
I'll always have enough.

Father,

Nothing surprises You, but we are knocked off balance easily as we traverse the road of motherhood. Each stage comes with a rollercoaster of emotion as we watch little people grow and bloom right before our eyes. We watch them struggle, trying to make things easier for them so they don't have to travel through some of the valleys we have climbed out of. We celebrate their victories as if they are our own, and our love for them is greater than anything we ever thought could possibly reside in our chests.

Motherhood is a gift we are incredibly thankful for today, Father. All of the parts of it the hard, the ugly, the triumphant, the sweet, and the beautiful. For we learn so much about ourselves, about who we were meant to be, through this journey You have purposed us to walk out. We learn more about who You are, as we unconditionally love our own children, no matter the cost.

Father, Your goodness and compassion for us is immeasurable. Continue to guide our steps as mothers. Make clear to us where our hands end and Yours begins. Help us to let go, a process that begins as soon as they no longer need us to rock them to sleep. As we let go, step by step and stage by stage, show us how to guide them to You. Help us learn how to encourage our children, cheering them on so they may discover the great and amazing plans You have for them.

Sustain us when we are weary, Father, for You are our strength. In our weakness, You are strong. But when we are caught up in panicked emotion as our protective instincts override our senses, we often forget to lay what's burdening us at your feet.

As we face impossible situations without precedent, increase our trust in You, Father. You sent Your only Son to die for us. Jesus sacrificed His life to save ours. The greatest expression of loveof all timefor us. When we look in the mirror, remind us that our reflection is embraced in heaven. Because of Christ, You are with us always. Help us to embrace our value, because in doing so our children see and experience the true power of being loved as a child of God. There is no condemnation and shame, only love and acceptance. To live in the arms of Your Love is to experience true freedom, joy, and peace, regardless of circumstance, status, or title. You love us, for us, just as we are. Though we continue to grow each day, You don't withhold an ounce of compassion from us as we flounder. Father, please remind us of this, through the power of Your Holy Spirit given to us by Jesus Christ's sacrifice, when we are losing patience and hope with our children and ourselves as mothers. Take away the benchmarks we place upon ourselves and the comparisons we fall victim to. Father, bless us with peace of mind, and the full satisfaction of being loved by You. For we love, because You first loved us. May our children come to know You, and Your great Love, too.

In Jesus' Powerful Name we Pray,

Amen.

Father God, we thank you for each and every woman you have blessed with the privilege of motherhood. We thank you that each single mother is a Godly steward of each of their children, and that they raise them in the ways of the Lord. Father, we pray and ask that You continue to give them grace to walk out being a single parent with kindness and generosity. We pray that each single mother has a relationship with You, and worships You in spirit and truth.

Dear Father, we approach your throne on behalf of the mothers whom you have entrusted with the care of your most precious little ones. We thank you for creating each mom with a unique combination of gifts and talents. We thank you for the sacrifice of self each mom gives for her children. For the late nights spent rocking a colicky infant. For the hands calloused from washing, wiping, scrubbing, mixing, backing, stirring, hugging, patting, disciplining, holding, writing, erasing, painting, and pouring.

We thank you for the gift of time moms give for their kids, whether it's stay-at-home moms, working moms, and moms who have some combination of the two. We thank you for the flexibility of moms, for their tirelessness, their perseverance, and their devotion.

We pray you give each mom strength. Help her to see in every mundane task the eternal, cosmic significance that you place on motherhood. Help her to understand that the most radical, world-changing events may be happening anonymously in her home. Help her to forgive those who undermine her significance.

We especially pray for single moms, who must lean solely on you for the fathering of their children. We thank you that you're big arms surround children who may never know their earthly father. We also pray for mother who never had the honor of bearing children, but whose nurturing extends to the many poor and needy who crass the threshold of their lives.

We ask you to be the daily bread of tired mothers. We ask you to be their living water. We ask you to be their source of spiritual and physical strength. We pray that the same grace that flowed from Father to Son to us in salvation will flow from mothers to their children. We pray that each mother rejects perfectionism and instead embraces the goodness of the gospel. We pray the rhythms of repentance and forgiveness shape every home.

Lord, give each mother a worshipful reverence of you, the Creator and Sustainer of life. Help each mother to rest in the knowledge that they are but stewards of your children and that only your Spirit can produce change into the hearts of each boy and girl. May each mother find rest in you.

Most of all, Lord, on this day in which we honor mothers, may we love and cherish the special women who have born us, who have nurtured us, and who have prayed for our well-being. May our hearts overflow with gratitude to you, who formed and knitted each of us in a mother's womb. Amen.

I said a Mother's Day prayer for you
to thank the Lord above
for blessing me with a lifetime
of your tenderhearted love.
I thanked God for the caring
you've shown me through the years,
for the closeness we've enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.

And so, I thank you from the heart
for all you've done for me
and I bless the Lord for giving me
the best mother there could be!

There are times when only a mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappoints
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a mother's heart and a mother's faith
And a mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the angels
And sent from God above.
