Prayer For Peace In Your Heart

My God and God of my ancestors, Author of life and death, I
turn to You in trust. Although I pray for life and health, I know
that I am mortal. If my life must soon come to an end, let me
die, I pray, at peace.
If only my hands were clean and my heart pure! I confess that I
have committed sins and left much undone, yet I know also the
good that I did or tried to do. May my acts of goodness give
meaning to my life, and may my errors be forgiven.
Protector of the bereaved and the helpless, watch over my loved
ones. Into Your hand I commit my spirit; redeem it, O God of
mercy and truth. Amen

Saint Francis' words imply that to say you are at peace or that you bring peace is easy. But to actually have it takes a lot of prayers, and self-examination, work, and discipline in behavior and attitudes. We are sometimes tempted to just run away from our responsibility, rather than face the truth of what God sees in us that we need to fix. Giving in to that temptation not only makes our life miserable, but also takes away the blessings God already gave right in front of you. As Catholics, our daily prayers, devotions, Sacraments, and reflections on the Gospel all combine to help us in this. But aside from reading and learning them, let us see to it that they all enrich the goodness of our actions. Through God's help, compassion and mercy, you can attain lasting peace in your heart and become a symbol of peace to others.

Most importantly, peace is not only the absence of confusion or disorder, but the presence of love in one's life. To talk peace is to speak of love; To live in peace is to show love. Genuine peace guides you not only in what you must do for yourself, but also in what you ought to do for your family, your loved ones, and your brothers and sisters in the Lord. Having peace fully in our hearts will bring us much closer to God as He continues to bless us, correct us, test us, and work through us.

Mama Mary, pray for us!

Amen.

Lord, I choose You and Your Will as my one possession in life. All else is passing and all else can be lost in an instant. But You, oh Lord, are eternal and You can never be taken away if I choose You. I love You, dear Lord, help me to remain firmly attached to You and Your Will. Jesus, I trust in You. Amen

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

Eternal, Holy God,

I come to you burdened with worries,

fears, doubts, and troubles.

Calm and quiet me with peace of mind.

Empty me of the anxiety that disturbs me,

of the concerns that weary my spirit,

and weigh heavy on my heart.

Loosen my grip on the disappointments and grievances

I hold on to so tightly.

Release me from the pain of past hurts,

of present anger and tension, of future fears.

Sometimes it's too much for me Lord,

too many demands and problems,

too much sadness, suffering, and stress.

Renew me spiritually and emotionally.

Give me new strength, hope, and confidence.

Prepare me to meet the constant struggles of daily life

with a deeper faith and trust in You.

Let your love set me free, for peace,

for joy, for grace, for life, for others, forever.

Amen.

Lord God, I wasn't expecting this, but I believe that You are still in control, and You are close to me even in this moment (Psalm 46:1). Thank You that before any of this even happened, You already knew it all, and You will provide a way through this (Psalm 23:4). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard me from dwelling on disastrous possibilities, and plant my feet firmly on what is true (Phil 4:6-8). Help me to trust You even in this hard place, and give me your perfect peace as I fix my mind on You (Isaiah 26:3). No matter what ends up happening, I believe You will use it for good (Jeremiah 29:11), to make much of Jesus and to make me more like Jesus (Romans 8:28-29). I trust You. I love You. Amen.

You are the Prince of Peace.

Your peace surpasses all understanding.

Your peace guards my heart and mind.

You are my Peace.

Confusion and chaos demand my attention.

Fear and frustration invade my thoughts.

But You are all-knowing and all-powerful.

You can still the raging storm within me.

Your Word will quiet my heart and help me to breathe again.

Where there is disorder, bring clarity.

Where there is anxiety, bring peace.

Help me to be still and know that You are God.

Please fill me with the assurance that You are in control.

Lord, please seal my heart and home with the unmistakable power of Your presence.

When I am full of despair, cover me in Your love.

When there is no reason to be at peace, be my Peace.

Lord, please bring me into Your peace so I can know You as my Prince of Peace. Amen
